Let Me Introduce Myself

Hello. For those who do not know, I am Kecia Jackson, born Kecia Nichelle Foster. I am a native of Durham, North Carolina. Durham is where I learned how to cook down home Southern cuisine by watching my mom and grandmother.

In 1996, I joined the United States Army and served for over 6 years.

My husband Rohan was born in Jamaica and served in the Army for 20 years.

My most honorable accomplishments are my two sons, Dominique and Demetre'. Demetre' has blessed me with the wonderful gift of my first daughter, Iyana. And Demetre' and Iyana are expecting their first child in March. Together my husband and I have 15 god children, ranging from the ages of 26 to 3 years old.

At the age of 37, I decided to go to culinary school and afterwards I worked for the College of William and Mary as an Assistant Pastry Chef and the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank as an Executive Chef for a Culinary Training Program.

I have been a Christian for 19 years and I love talking about the love of God to those that will listen.

As we go on this blog journey together, I pray that we all will be encouraged, and enlightened together.

My husband and I will be talking about healthy delicious food, love and God. We will also be sharing a combination of Southern cuisine and Jamaican cuisine along with some healthy options. We will take you on our journey with food, life and prayer. Thanks for going along with us on this journey.
